Resources & Support to Families with Epilepsy

JoshProvides Epilepsy Assistance Foundation was founded in 2008. Our financial assistance for medical services and transportation and distribution of seizure alert & detection devices offer direct and immediate help to children, families and individuals. 

With COVID-19, we have experienced an increase in requests for assistance. Some of this is due to job layoffs and furloughs and other requests come because of the increased stress COVID-19 has caused individuals which is triggering seizures.  

COVID-19 has significantly impacted all members of our community. Social isolation has always been an issue for people with epilepsy - because of their seizures. During COVID-19, our target population is even more isolated due to their health and anti-seizure medication which decreases their immune system. Several of our families have lost their jobs or been furloughed and some families have contracted the virus. This has put great strain on their financial situation.

This project, Resources & Support to Families with Epilepsy during COVID-19, will increase the available funds to directly benefit the children, families and individuals who turn to JoshProvides for help.

Funds will be used to reimburse families who have experienced financial hardships for their anti-seizure medications; to assist with transportation to get to doctor appointments; to provide financial assistance for groceries for families who have experienced a job loss or furlough and require home delivery because of compromised immune systems.
