Welcome to the information page about Veronica's Voice. Like you, we are dissatisfied with being in a world where women and children are bought and sold, we are doing something meaningful to change, and we are excited to have you join us!

Veronica’s Voice was founded in 2000 by Kristy Childs who, during her escape from commercial sexual exploitation, paved a way for her sisters to come along behind her.

Veronica's Voice is a survivor-lead, realistic, and meaningful alternative to prostitution. Our vision is that of women who have suffered the sexual abuse and violence of commercial sexual exploitation growing individually and collectively, while becoming thriving leaders in their community.

We accomplish our goals by through our residential program, job skills training, a men's re-education program, and advocacy.

Veronica’s Voice residential program provides women in recovery from abuse, violence, sex trafficking and addiction the sanctuary needed to focus on deep healing. Our program provides women exiting 'the life' up to two years of free transitional housing, food, and basic necessities in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

Importantly, Veronica's Voice also provides participants specialized services consisting of:
1) Comprehensive trauma, addiction recovery, and other mental and physical health services they need as a result of their years of childhood abuse and being trafficked for sex.
2) Education, life skills and job training, of which they were deprived in their underprivileged childhoods and life of commercial sexual exploitation.

Veronica's Voice social enterprise, a Just Cause, provides job-skills training for women in the Magdalene KC program, and a solution to the multiple barriers to employment faced by our residents. Women learn soft and hard skills as they create body care products. All proceeds from sales of the products go back to support survivors gaining economic independence. Our vision is to provide paid apprenticeships where residents would obtain vocational training, financial literacy, job placement, and full and part-time management-level employment.

Permanent employment for graduates at Veronica’s Voice moves women out of poverty and contributes to their ongoing individual recovery through financial stability and providing a sense of accomplishment and purpose.

Our advocacy efforts included collaboration with law enforcement to reduce demand for commercial sexual exploitation through our men's re-education program, Stopping Sexual Exploitation, an annual Search for missing youth, and reform efforts to challenge and change systems in which women and children are bought and sold.

Support from change makers like you make our efforts possible!

Wishing you health and prosperity!

Until all are free,
