Bread of Healing Inc

The Bread of Healing Clinic was founded in 2000 when a doctor in her residency program and a parish

nurse working in the community became frustrated by the cycle of Milwaukee's uninsured individuals

ending up in the hospital for chronic health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease

that could be managed easily by access to primary care and medications. Our clinics provide free

primary care medical and dental services to uninsured and under-insured adults in Milwaukee. We have

several volunteer providers who make it possible for us to offer specialty care to patients such as

rheumatology, nephrology, physical therapy, gynecology, cardiology, and respiratory therapy.  Through

the MedShare program we collaborate with other free clinics in the community to provide medications

at no cost to the patient. Our clinics also provide mental health counseling at no cost through part-time

staff and Master's level counseling and social work interns from Milwaukee area universities.

Connecting our integrated care is our Community Health Resource Center(CHRC) which provides

patients and community members access to social work services such as insurance enrollment and

resource navigation.
