The Challenge:   Millions of America’s children are not ready for kindergarten or first grade.

Many classrooms across the United States are in desperate need of EarlyEd program resources especially now considering the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Researchers estimate that 85 to 90 percent of a child’s brain is developed by the age of 5. But studies suggest that less than 4% of public education investments go to programs serving children during this critical period.” Tony Wan - Editor at EdSurge.

This lack of funding no doubt is contributing to America’s literacy crisis. According to the Nation’s Report Card, over 67% of U.S. 4th graders are NOT proficient in reading and 88% of students who failed to earn a high school diploma were struggling readers in 3rd grade.

The Need:

Win Early Literacy was established to help fund disadvantaged Pre-K, kindergarten, and first-grade classrooms. Across the United States, there are thousands of teachers who are desperately trying to get funds to acquire the evidence-based resources they need to help their students develop a strong learning foundation that will lead to a lifetime of success. And as we discover the true impact of COVID-19 on children’s learning trajectories we expect even more resources to be requested.

The Solution:

One of our lead solution partners, Alive Studios, is a software developer of supplemental curriculum and has created a patented, innovative approach to learning that dramatically improves literacy scores, along with the social-emotional and cognitive outcomes important for school readiness. In addition to the curriculum, all classrooms are given a success coach and assessment tools to track their progress. Results are reported back to the donor after the 60-day assessment is completed.

Win Early Literacy Seeks $100,000 For 50 Classrooms Impacting 5,000 Children Across The United States. Since this is a one-time investment it will impact an average of at least 20 children per classroom over 5 years.
