Ted Yoder
Transplant Type: Kidney
Ted Yoder is awaiting a new lease on life. Two and a half years ago, he went to the hospital worried that his heart was failing. Instead, he learned he was facing end-stage renal failure. He went on dialysis at that time, which takes a toll on his quality of life and leaves him tired. The stress on his heart became too much, and he was hospitalized for a quadruple bypass last year. Recovery has been lengthy, but Ted has persevered. Unfortunately, his kidney function continues to decline, and doctors say a kidney transplant is critical.
During this difficult time, Ted is thankful for the love and support of his family and friends. He has four adult children and four beautiful granddaughters, and they keep him going when his situation gets him down. He looks forward to receiving a transplant that will improve his quality of life and free him from dialysis. Ted enjoys music, both playing and listening. Although he can still listen, playing is now a challenge due to a lack of energy and breath. He wants nothing more than to receive a transplant so his life can return to normal without the limitations he faces now. Once he receives his transplant, he hopes to return to some kind of productive work and be able to watch his granddaughters grow up. But right now, he needs your help.
The average kidney transplant costs more than $414,000, and that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, he still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Ted. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Missouri Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazens Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Ted Yoder” on the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
