Transplant Type: Liver
Dear friends and supporters,
Tammy needs a liver transplant to get back to caring for her grandkids and enjoying time with her husband.
In 2020, Tammy was diagnosed with Stage 3 Liver Disease, which has progressed to Stage 4 Cirrhosis, unrelated to alcohol. This health condition has left her bedridden, with reduced energy and appetite, hindering her ability to enjoy life's simple pleasures. Additionally, Tammy's daughter is battling stage 4 breast cancer, requiring Tammy's unwavering support and care for her four and five-year-old grandchildren. Helping to care for her grandchildren has also proved to be difficult due to Tammy’s fatigue associated with her condition.
Prior to her diagnosis, Tammy was dedicated to her career to running a drug and alcohol recovery nonprofit with her husband. Now, due to complications arising from diabetes, she urgently needs a liver transplant.
Unfortunately, Tammy’s new liver comes at a very high cost.
The average liver transplant costs more than $800,000. Even with the support of health insurance, Tammy still faces significant medical expenses following his transplant. Post transplant there will continue to be pressing financial needs including lifetime follow-up care and costly medications.
Tammy’s transplant center is in Jacksonville, approximately 300 miles away from Tammy's home, and she will need to relocate to Jacksonville for around two months during recovery following the treatment. This health crisis has rendered her disabled, preventing her from working and engaging in the activities she once cherished, such as taking her grandkids to parks and amusement parks, and going on dates with her husband.
Tammy's dream of living life to the fullest, traveling, and enjoying quality time with her spouse and family has been put on hold. The financial burden of medical expenses, relocation, and ongoing care is overwhelming, and she is reaching out to seek your support during this challenging period.
Tammy is grateful for any assistance you can provide, whether through a donation or by sharing this appeal within your network. Your generosity will make a significant impact on patients like Tammy to access the life-saving treatment and alleviate the financial strain on her family.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Tammy.
If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the National Foundation for Transplants, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Tammy Robbins” in the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
