Sparking the Creative Together

This Fall, we have planned an exciting and enriching schedule of classes specifically tailored to the artistic community of Veterans, Seniors and Artists with disabilities whom we serve. We are counting on your support to help make these important and, yes, sometimes life-changing, creative opportunities available to those who want and need them! 

Classes range from percussion sessions from across the globe with professional musicians to stained glass fabrication to our popular Create Your Story class which uses meditation, art and writing to delve into those deep wells of hidden creativity. We have a variety of Veteran writing classes, and a unique retreat coming up in October in Weslaco, Texas which combines wildlife photography, creative writing, and watercolor painting!  And, in November, for the first time, we are presenting a virtual one-day creative healing retreat for female veterans statewide. Your contribution helps pay for our professional instructors and art supplies. 

Additional Fall classes include dance, women’s art history and the latest in our Be Present series. This is a movement workshop focusing on relaxation, posture and Ideokinesis, a method of visualization that can lead to improvements in physical awareness and overall well-being – a terrific combination for Seniors, but really for people of all abilities.

Some classes will be online, while others are programs that we bring directly to those places where we can serve our community best - Veteran Centers, dance venues and Senior Centers. We hope, with your help, to be able to conduct as many of our classes as possible both virtually AND in-person.
