NAMI Montgomery has a strong team of advocates who regularly present their own mental health journeys as a way to impact others and provide hope along the way. "Eliminating Stigma" will allow NAMI Montgomery to continue pursuing this mission.
"Eliminating Stigma" will increase the health and welfare of the general population. One in five people have a serious mental illness which hampers employment, health, general living conditions, employment, and education.
This project will educate the community not only about the NAMI Montgomery projects that help those with a mental illness, but by bringing mental health into the forefront of conversation. It will contribute to the community to let them know it's okay to not be okay, and that it is okay to talk about mental health.
