Our region is recovering from the effects of the pandemic thanks to the tireless work of essential workers, many of whom are first or second-generation immigrants. The needs have not disappeared and are evolving every day. One of the greatest unmet needs in Northern Virginia is accessible mental health services for immigrant children, youth, and adults.

Over the course of the pandemic, requests for mental health services grew exponentially. Staff are still stretched to their capacity and wait lists for therapy have not shortened

The long-term effects of the heightened anxiety, depression, stress, and isolation from the pandemic will continue to unfold. It will take time and your support to overcome this increased need.

You can provide accessible, language specific, and affordable mental health services for someone struggling with a mental health crisis.

Your gift can provide the following:

$50 promotes mindfulness and stress-reduction for parents

$80 supports 2 hours of in-home bilingual mental health counseling for new mothers screened for depression

$100 provides one counseling session for a child, youth or adult recovering from trauma

$500 provides life skills workshops for youth participating in Youth Initiatives' school specific group services

$1,000 provides 10 mental health counseling sessions

$3,000 provides 12 support group sessions for up to 12 youth

Will you provide accessible, language specific, and affordable mental health services for an individual struggling to improve their well-being?
