Mooresburg Community Association (MCA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit social service organization, providing much needed services to older adults and adults with disabilities in rural Hawkins County, TN. Our services are accessible and available to enable them to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible, and avoid unnecessary moves to long-term care facilities. Established in 2001, MCA’s mission is to fight hunger, eradicate food insecurity, and promote healthy eating by providing our home-delivered meals program, Meals in the Hills. The program works to decrease social isolation and loneliness while ensuring the health of our residents in Mooresburg, providing an array of services to improve the quality of life and health equity of its residents and benefits community wellness. MCA is committed to identifying and serving low-income residents who live on the fringes with limited access to resources, particularly healthy food.

  • Our Meals in the Hills program serves an average of 1,850 meals a month. Meals are freshly prepared at the center and delivered 5 days a week. One-quarter of our recipients also receive 2 additional weekend meals on Fridays.
  • MCA is the ONLY Meals on Wheels America member organization located in Hawkins County.
  • Our non-emergency medical transportation program provides door to door transportation to doctor's appointments. We are able to provide approximately 20 rides each month.
  • We also provide assistance with applications for heating and water assistance, Food Stamps, and other state and local social programs.
  • Mooresburg's Friends & Family Thrift Store, located next door, is available to our community to provide an affordable shopping experience.

Mooresburg Community Center reopened in 2021 after remaining safe and healthy during the COVID crisis. Our volunteers and recipients maintained strict protocols and meals were prepared and delivered every day during the pandemic.

In 2022, MCA was recognized as a senior center by the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disabilities. Following this accreditation, MCA also became a National Institute of Senior Centers affiliate in 2023.

Volunteers are the backbone of Mooresburg Community & Senior Center. Without the devotion and compassion of our volunteers, our programs would not have been able to sustain throughout our 22 years of service. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer, please stop by the center and we will be more than happy to add you to our team!
