Kelly's Birthday Gift

I grew up with a physical disability, and because of that, I know firsthand how powerful access to recreation can be. Being able to ski, hike, kayak, and play sports didn’t just give me something fun to do—it helped me grow into who I am. It gave me confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging in my own body.

That’s a big part of why I love being at NEHSA. I get to see other people have those same experiences. It’s not just about getting outside, it’s about building confidence, finding community, and realizing what’s possible.

These programs make a real difference, not just physically but mentally and emotionally too. They bring people together, create joy, and help people feel like they belong.
