Food Rescue US - Detroit was founded on the concept of empowering communities, and our efforts have been transformative in Detroit. Food Rescue US - Detroit has improved the quality and increased the quantity of food that our social service agency partners can provide to those in need.
- In just over a year, we have provided over 1.2 million high quality meals and reduced food waste by more than 1.5 million pounds.
- We recruited and now partner with more than 50 food donors, 100 food rescuers, and 50 social service agencies.
- Our reach has expanded to serve those in need in Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, Genesee, Saginaw, and Midland Counties .
- Food Rescue US - Detroit aims to provide over 2.7 million meals to those in-need and keep over 3.2 million pounds of food out of landfills in our second year.
Funds at this time will allow us to continue our operations to meet our goal and adapt to the evolving landscape and challenges facing social service agencies and food insecure individuals and families.
