Our Mission-

Englewood Arts is a community-minded non-profit organization that is using the arts as a catalyst for improvement of the historic Englewood district in Independence Missouri. The organization is focused on developing a long-term, sustainable community-based arts center.

The renovation of our newly purchased three-story building from the City of Independence will be the touchstone for the community and the greater metropolitan area allowing us to facilitate sustainable on-going culturally-diverse community programming through performing arts, visual arts, and culinary arts.

With the renovation of the arts center building we will effectively:

• Be the first art center in the history of Independence Missouri and build strong and culturally diverse educational programming for the regional community as well for it's many partner organizations, including WestiNd Connection,  Hope House, Habitat for Humanity, and The Independence School District to name just a few.

• Offer culturally diverse community-based arts programming, much needed affordable art maker spaces, adult and kids classes, and artist residency opportunities.

• Create economic growth through incubating visual artists, culinary artists, musicians, and performers into small business owners.

• Usher in a new "arts" identity for Independence by creating one more cultural gem for not just Independence, but the larger community as well.

Your contribution

Will help us to complete phase one of our construction plan allowing us to open the first floor of the arts center and programming to begin. For more information on our strategic plan please visit our Website. Englewood Arts
