Experian is proud to support Dress for Success Austin for A Community Thrives! Read more about DFSA below and help us empower Austin women by making a gift that is meaningful to you and sharing this campaign with your network through social media!

Over the last couple of years, Experian has donated over $30,000 and contributed many* volunteer hours through our Career Center Takeover program. The Experian team will also be hosting a three-part financial education series for DFSA clients in August 2021 focusing on credit-related topics. Dress for Success Austin is incredibly grateful for their support!

Since our opening in 2003, DFSA has served over 16,000 Central Texas women. Fun fact: 97% of our services are provided through volunteers, like our friends at Experian! In addition to providing professional clothing, we help women build the lifelong skills they need to succeed in their career through our six active workforce development programs, which are now operating completely virtually. The last eighteen months have been tough for all of us, but we have grown more passionate in our mission and remain dedicated to meeting Austin women where they are, no matter what.

We've been able to serve almost 900 individual women through virtual workshops, one-on-one career consulting, and mentoring programs since March of 2020. While these numbers are a huge win for us considering the circumstances, we are expecting a large influx of women in need when we reopen our office for in-person services in September.

It's no secret that women -- specifically women of color and young women -- have been impacted most by the pandemic. Women lost nearly 4.2 million net jobs since February of 2020, and while employment numbers are rising (women accounted for 56.2% of job gains in May 2021), statistics show that we would need more than 13 straight months of job gains at May's level to recover.

We want to help women get back to where they were before COVID-19, but we need your help.

See how the support you provide can change the lives of the women we serve in the video below. Myra came to us over 10 years ago, new to Texas and looking for help in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Now she puts her chemistry degree to good use doing cancer research. Hear her story in her own words.
