Culpepper Garden is an affordable independent and assisted living community for people age 62 and older. We were Arlington's first affordable housing community. We are Northern Virginia's largest affordable senior community and the only affordable community that includes assisted living. It's because of friends like you that we've been able to care for the needs of our aging residents for the past fifty years. Now more than ever, your gift to Culpepper Garden is vitally important to ensure we can continue to deliver high quality housing and care to a growing population of seniors with very limited income.

Let me introduce you to Kathleen.

Kathleen is a devoted mother and grandmother with three adult children and several grandchildren. She worked briefly for the FBI before becoming a homemaker and stayed active by volunteering with the school system. She lives in a small condo in Arlington for 33 years. One day, Kathleen's leg gave out on her. She was diagnosed with a tumor in her brain and underwent emergency surgery. The swelling around her brain has yet to fully heal.

Kathleen applied to Culpepper Garden's Independent Living but when her condition did not improve, she realized she would need more assistance. Fortunately at Culpepper Garden she had the option of moving into assisted living. Since moving to Culpepper Garden, more than a year ago, she has made many friends and enjoys participating in the various daily activities including trivia, morning exercise and listening to live music. Kathleen's children are actively involved in their mother's care and are happy to see her involved and engaged in her new community. Kathleen says she is "grateful for Culpepper Garden and the amazing staff who provide the best care."

Your gift this Giving Tuesday helps residents like Kathleen, to thrive in their Culpepper Garden home. With your support, we can assure that no assisted living resident will ever have to leave Culpepper Garden because they can no longer afford to pay for their care. Thank you for your generous support!
