The Arizona Masterworks Chorale (AMC) “COVID Choral Collaboration Project” celebrates the post-pandemic joy of once again gathering to sing together and enjoy live music, while remembering those lost.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 during the 2021 A Community Thrives campaign to help support the project.
AMC will commission a new, significant choral work for the 2021-22 concert season, to be sung as a world premiere at an AMC concert in collaboration with a youth choir from a Phoenix community music organization or Title I school. The concert will have multiple performances, with one in the youth choir’s home venue.
AMC and youth choir leaders will join in planning the commission to represent joys and sorrows felt by their diverse communities, and AMC will provide the youth choir with needed materials and vocal coaching to supplement their current resources.
At the end of the project, we hope for both a joint artistic success, a new collaboration partner with which AMC can work in future seasons, and singers who may join our Chorale
