Please consider making a donation to the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra now through Dec. 1, 2020 for #GivingTuesday as we unite for a universal day of generosity!

Our season looks a lot different this year and without live, ticketed concerts it makes it more challenging to meet our fundraising goals.  Alas, we have forged our way through this pandemic with your help and generosity and are continuing to monitor and modify our plans.

The AlphaSO just finished up our first recording session last week lead by Dr. Grant Gilman and are excited about sharing this project with you soon!  We played the 'Oriental Festival March' from Carl Nielsen's adventurous 'Aladdin Suite', an excerpt of the gorgeous 'Romantic Symphony' by Howard Hanson, and a beautiful piece, 'Noel' from 'Symphonic Sketches,' by George Whitefield Chadwick.  Along with this, we were honored to record the first ever live, symphonic version of the 'Veterans' Anthem' written and performed by the beautiful and talented, Takosha Swan.  This anthem was written in response to Georgia Governor Kemp's state challenge to prevent suicide among veterans, service members, and their families.

Meanwhile, the AlphaYouthSO has been meeting weekly with Dr. S. Eric Hawk in creating various virtual projects.  The kids have been challenged to learn new platforms in technology, working on full orchestra and chamber ensemble projects, and have even stretched their musical horizons with a little improvisation!  Here is a chamber ensemble sample from the AlphaYouthSO...
