Between November 5 and November 29, 2022, 33 Forever asks all our "33F Friends" and other supporters to donate to us during the Annual Richland Gives campaign! Our campaign this year is the "33 Forever Suicide Prevention Research Campaign."  100% of the donataions we receive during this time will be directly used to directly help fund life-saving and critically needed suicide prevention research. 33 Forever has teamed up with world-leading sucide prevention expert and researcher, Dr. Craig Bryan, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to join the efforts of OSU and Dr. Bryan's team to literally change the game when it comes to understanding and preventing suicide.

Dr. Bryan has significant expertise in cognitive-behavioral treatments for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As a military veteran (he deployed to Iraq in 2009), he has expertise working with military personnel, veterans and first responders. His military service has had a significant impact on his clinical work and research focus, shaping the questions he asks as a scientist and his understanding of the stresses and problems that his patients experience. Working in mental health has allowed him to help people find and create meaning and purpose in their lives.

Dr. Bryan conducts research to help adults who are dealing with mental health issues. In collaboration with his colleagues, he has developed and demonstrated the effectiveness of brief cognitive behavioral therapy (BCBT) for suicidal individuals. Results of their randomized clinical trial indicated the treatment reduced suicide attempts by 60% as compared to traditional treatment. More recently, they completed a second randomized clinical trial showing that crisis response planning, a key component of BCBT, significantly reduced suicide attempts by 76% among people as a stand-alone emergency intervention.

We ask that you take this time to consider your year-end giving and help us reach our campaign goals so 33 Forever can support this ground-breaking and life-saving research right here in our own backyard. If all of the donations to 33 Forever get our campaign in to the top small non-profits in the Richland Gives campaign, we will be eligible for additional donated dollars from the Richland County Foundation!

Help us make this campaign a success during this season of both "thanks" and "giving!" For more about 33 Forever, check out our website at www.33forever.life or our Facebook or Instagram pages.
