Founded in 1993 by a group of volunteers, one·n·ten has been a beacon of hope for LGBTQ+ youth in Arizona for over three decades. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth, one·n·ten began offering essential support through group meetings and resources. Over the years, one·n·ten has grown alongside the needs of LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, expanding our programs and reach. From humble beginnings, one·n·ten has become a statewide leader in fostering safe spaces and empowering LGBTQ+ youth.
Today, one·n·ten’s legacy continues to grow, providing critical services through a variety of enriching programs. Those services include:
YOUTH CENTER PROGRAMS: Young people can participate in daily activities that promote social-emotional learning, life and leadership skills, physical and mental health awareness, artistic expression, and education. Supportive services such as food, clothing, showers, and resource referral are also available.
SATELLITE GROUPS: Not everyone is able to travel to our Youth Center, so satellite youth groups bring one-n-ten activities to young people. Satellites operate widely across Maricopa, Yavapai, Navajo, Pinal, Coconino, and Yuma counties.
IDENTITY-SPECIFIC PROGRAMS: To address the unique needs and experiences of trans and non-binary youth, and youth who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, we have identity-specific support groups and retreats led by staff members with lived experience.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT: Youth prepare themselves for the future by learning in-demand skills and gaining connections to LGBTQ-friendly employers.
HOUSING: LGBTQ+ young adults ages 18 to 24 who are experiencing or at risk for homelessness receive rental, utilities, and food assistance, as well as job readiness training while preparing to live independently.
OUTDOOR PROGRAMS: Our affirming summer camp Camp OUTdoors, Trans & Non-binary Retreat, and 2gether N Color Retreat connect youth to the environment while they build leadership skills and work in collaborative ways.
As a Qualifying Charitable Tax Credit Organization (QCO 20190), when you donate to one·n·ten you may be eligible to reduce your 2024 state taxes, up to $470 for individuals and $938 for couples.
