Youth Leadership Institute of Erie

The Youth Leadership Institute of Erie is working to empower tomorrow's leaders and we need your help!

At YLI, focus on mentoring and training high school students. We connect them with various resources that enable them to become servant leaders. We believe that doing so can help alleviate generational poverty and change lives.

Our nonprofit provides instruction and opportunities for service and growth at every touchpoint. We want all our participants to become more educated, motivated, and committed to helping their communities. 

Our core program is called Connected In Five, or CI5. 
CI5 is an education and career training program that connects high school students with various community resources. It allows high school students to progress through 5 education and career "Classes" (or levels of development).  We enable these young people to refine their unique strengths, interests, and talents, preparing them for a future of success. Active participation in CI5 allows students to earn up to a $2000 scholarship for post-secondary education!

1.  Learning - Basic aptitudes in school (service learning projects)
2. Leading - Ability to articulate personal values
3. Working - Meaningfully engaged in work readiness
4. Connecting - Quality relationships with adults & peers (practice leadership)
5. Thriving - Understanding of growth & development
   
   

You may also see our organization get involved in other projects around the Erie Region, especially those initiatives that impact the lives of young people, such as violence prevention measures.
