YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago

The mission of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago (The Y) is to develop strong children, families and communities across Metro Chicago through academic readiness, character development, violence prevention, and fitness and healthy living. Our mission reflects the far-reaching impact of our programs and services in building stronger and healthier communities.

We envision more vibrant and compassionate neighborhoods where the Y is seen as an essential leader in making our city a world-class place to live and raise a family.

Since 1858, the Y has been a key community-based organization serving more than 200,000 people annually in 23 member and program centers, five resident camps, and dozens of partner sites across seven counties.
