WHAT WE DO 

We support and assist individuals living with disability in creating the ability to meet life's challenges. 

Impaired functions create unique challenges to participation in community.  Friends and family provide a vital network of support and assistance for meeting those challenges.  That network is essential to manage the risks associated with disability.

OUR 3-STEP VITALITY PROGRAM

1:  We employ techniques of improvisational theater to train in positive communication skills, focusing on three vital objectives:

• Have fun and relax – giggles and grins are incredibly relaxing
• Take a risk – be willing to try something that may not work
• “Yes, and” – accept and add to the moment

2:   Our improv exercises promote vital connections  

3:   We develop a CreateAbility Culture allowing each individual to be vital contributors to neighborhood life.

WHO WE ARE 

We are a small group of professional Friends and Family who volunteer our time and treasure to support, assist, and befriend folks living with disability.  

Four friends created Vitality In Action Foundation in 2007 to develop community-based efforts that mitigate the isolation resulting from disability.  

Vital Friends direct our strategic efforts to recruit Barrier Busters.  We are folks who have met the challenges created by functional impairment and lead efforts that remove barriers to participation in community activities.
