Sustainable Future Center

Sustainable Future Center aims to empower individuals and communities to improve health and resilience by fostering a co-operative, self-reliant learning community using permaculture principles. Our project, an outdoor classroom and community space, will help us to better support our mission and the people we serve. 

The covered outdoor classroom will include unique permaculture features like compost toilets, private rainwater showers, and an energy efficient cooking area. Dynamic seating, ample table space, and cooling fans will make this space ideal for an outdoor classroom for the homeschool group we house, as well as for the Boys and Girls Club next door.  This building will also give us more room to store educational materials and tools, such as child-sized tools and gloves, which will help us provide a hands-on gardening experience to anyone that comes our way.

We envision hosting summer camps, outdoor workshops and seminars, concerts, community markets, and more.
