$15,000 Goal

The NYSYLC, New York State Youth Leadership Council, is the first organization in New York led by undocumented youth. We empower immigrant youth through leadership development, grassroots organizing, educational advancement, and self-expression. Our goal is to give undocumented youth the tools and space to organize and create change in our communities.

Our programs, created by and for undocumented youth, include:

  • Art workshops: on creative writing, photography, dance, and more
  • Community-building events: trips to museums and community gardens, and a summer book club
  • Undocu Academy: a one-year college access, professional development, and mentorship program for undocumented high school seniors
  • Dream Team Network: a network of undocumented-led advocacy clubs in high schools and colleges across NYC
  • Advocating for the hiring of Immigrant Liaisons in all K-12 public schools in NYC, to support immigrant students and families
  • Support group for immigrant daughters
  • Political Education Workshops: activating youth through education on systems of oppression, community organizing, the history of the immigrants' rights movement, and more

With your support, we led the movement that passed the NYS Dream Act, and we distributed over $500,000 of COVID-19 relief funds to undocumented youth and families. Now we are calling on you again to stand with immigrant youth. Please make a donation to ensure that undocumented youth in NYC, especially those without DACA, have a space where we can create the programs and change that our community needs.
