Our Mission is to promote and support the study of history, law, and civics for the development of responsible and informed citizens who are committed to democratic principles and active engagement in representative government.  We support K-12 teachers, students, and all community members who are interested in social studies, history, and government.  Our programs provide 21st-century skills of critical thinking, communication, confidence, empathy, bonding, literacy, and knowledge statewide.  We offer Professional Learning Communities (PLC) for teachers of all grade levels and during the school year ,we provide deeper content through our Ask the Expert presentations nvcce.org/asktheexpert.  We are planning a podcast in the near future that will increase historical content on the various cultures that built Nevada.  Our curriculum includes We the People, Project Citizen:  Community Engagement in Public Policy; National History Day in Nevada; Law Day, and more.  We support teachers in planning implementation in their classrooms and we support recruiting community members to visit classrooms as judges and speakers.  Understanding civics, community engagement, and history are essential elements for a productive healthy democracy.
