Lake County Habitat for Humanity is located in Lake County, Baldwin Michigan nestled in the middle of the Manistee National Forest with a population of 11,583.  We are listed as one of the poorest counties in the state of Michigan per capita. Our housing stock is old and inadequate to meet the needs of our citizens at every economic level, but extremely difficult for those who are elderly, persons with disabilities, and low-income families. Lake County Habitat for Humanity has the vision to create small neighbors throughout our rural community to promote a sense of, belonging, inclusion, and hope. Providing long term wealth to our citizens, while contributing to the overall economic development and growth of our County.  This vision also includes adding a tiny pocket park, community garden, a walking area since we have a walkability score of 0%.

Lake County Habitat for Humanity has been a long time partner in building partnerships with families working alongside them to building hope. In our 37 years on existence, we are credited with building 93 homes throughout our community.  Lake County Habitat wants to continue to be the leader in providing hope, longterm wealth, support economic growth in our community, and assisting families with obtaining homeownership.
