Inside Out S&S

A nonprofit organization

Human Trafficking has a large impact where ever it is happening, whether internationally or in your own city.  Over the last 3 years our organization has been working with/on many different levels and with different organizations to educate our community and fight human trafficking locally. Our organization is working hard to help assist victims/potential victims of human trafficking however we can.
In the state of Idaho there are only a few organizations that offer help to victims of human trafficking and their families.  Due to limited services providing protection and rehabilition in Idaho they are often out sourced to other states and organizations providing their specific services for trafficked victims.  INsideOUT has been contacted by several goverment organizations to help teach sessions on awareness and the dangers of human trafficking to youth in Ada and Canyon counties. Along with that we have been connected with youth who lives have been affected by human trafficking, and work to provide resources, support, and advocate on their behalf.

Currently the three main areas we focus on are:

Advocates:
INsideOUT uses victim centered approach to working with victims and their families. This means that the victims and their health, safety, and trauma is a first priority.  We walk along side victims and their families as they navigate, legal issues, treatment, and aftercare. We are able to help when they need financial assistance relating to treatment, resources, and a friend to talk to.

Detention Programs:
The staff at INsideOUT, has developed curriculum to teach, about self-esteem, vulnerability, and dangers that lead to human trafficking.  These are hands on classes, taught in 2 different sessions once a month.
Day 1:   Focuses on how the way we look and act, is a reflection on how we feel about ourselves.  Using this approach, we talk about how this leads to putting ourselves in vulerable situations, even if not intended.  Then lastly we share definitions, dangers, and key indictors that human traffickers look for in victims.
Day 2:  We teach make up application, why we use make and how to use it appropriatly. We share different ways to care for our hair, and basic hairstyles.

Social Services:

"Its estimated 85% Juveniles found to be human trafficked have runaway from fostercare/group homes/and have had contact with social services."

INsideOUT was approach by social services to help with juveniles who are frequent runaways, to help educate them about the danger of running away and human trafficking. The youth we work with are appointed to our program usually by the court.
Staff and volunteers teach twice a week for 4-6 weeks, to help educate them using videos, and runaway curriculum, along with our detention curriculum. The youth will then report to the court what they have learned from our program.
