Amanda's House of Hope Fundraiser
House of Hope provides a safe and supportive place where youth and families with children experiencing homelessness will become confident, independent, and successful members of our community. House of Hope programming eliminates barriers to success and helps create healthy families who will go on to live and succeed in a nurturing and stable environment.
House of Hope was founded in 2000 by a group of community members who noticed a gap in services. House of Hope created a program that effects real change, centering client voices in the programs and services offered.
Our clients have access to employment, education, parenting classes, budget counseling/debt management, and physical and mental health care services. In addition to emergency shelter, House of Hope offers a Housing Stability Program that provides financial assistance and intensive case management to low-income, homeless families with children.
House of Hope recently expanded its shelter capacity and will continue to expand the vital services and support offered to youth and families with children in Northeastern Wisconsin. House of Hope is also one of the only shelters in our community serving clients as young as 17 in our emergency shelter.
In 2020, House of Hope opened the Hope Center, an emergency shelter facility for at-risk, pregnant, or parenting minors and their children. The Hope Center is licensed to provide safety and support to minors aged 0-17. The Hope Center is one of the only shelter care facilities in the State of Wisconsin that will not separate minor youth from their children.
Between July 2021 and June 2022, House of Hope provided emergency shelter and supportive services to 1069 individuals in 412 households: 402 adults and 667 children.
House of Hope provides a safe, supportive environment where basic needs are met and programs that provide the opportunity for systemic change are abundant and accessible. We are working toward a future where the support and services we provide are no longer needed as the children we serve today will grow and thrive as stable, successful members of our community. We envision a future where every child knows what it is to have a home.
