$100,000 Goal

With a formula shortage gripping the nation its only natural to focus on Zero Hunger for babies because in these unprecedented times...

Food insecurity is much more than not getting enough to eat.

Food insecurity is a devastating community problem, that can cost people who get can goods from food pantries, more than $1,800 a year in extra health costs. Even FREE formula can place moms with lower incomes, at higher risk for postpartum depression,

Here's How:

Meet Ayanna*

She's represents one of 35,000 food insecure individuals in Chesterfield and Tri-cities area.

She has new baby. Ayanna wishes she learned more about breastfeeding. In the hospital someone came in, but she was distracted.

Then later, the nurse handed her her baby with a bottle in his mouth already.

Food Insecurity For Babies is preventable

She gets assistance to buy formula but worries about high gas costs and empty store shelves.

Now, her child's system reacts to cow's milk. There are extra trips to the doctor, plus a c-section wound healing slower than it should.

Ayanna only has time to nibble on snacks and has less money for food anyway, because she's on maternity leave.

In fact, making nutritious meals for herself and her other child, is a challenge.

Unfortunately, special circumstances of food insecurity like Ayanna where a food pantry isn't the right answer, aren't uncommon.
