Gibson County Memorial Library Foundation

The Gibson County Memorial Library Foundation was established in November 2018 to raise funds for a larger building for the Gibson County Memorial Library. The current 5,200 sq. ft. building was built in 1968 and is no longer adequate in meeting the needs of the residents of Gibson County. The mission of the Gibson County Memorial Library is to enrich the lives of the citizens of Gibson County by providing quality materials and services which fulfill educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the entire community. The library strives to create a level playing field for all Gibson County residents to give everyone a fair shot at a bright future. With the help of a world renowned library consultant and an architect, the Foundation now has the research and layouts they need to help them build a 21st Century library. What they are lacking are the funds. In order to meet the current needs, and projected growth, of Gibson County, the new building will need to be about four times the size of the current building. And so begins the fundraising journey.
