Christian Care Center Inc

A nonprofit organization

Love started a movement through the Christian Care Center where we care for the hungry, homeless and addicted 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Christian Care Center receives no city, state or federal funding. We rely on the financial support of compassionate churches, individuals, businesses, foundations and civic organizations, trusting in God to meet our needs.

The Christian Care Center seeks to be a service to Leesburg, Lake County, and the surrounding areas by providing shelter and food for the needy and homeless; security, love, and comfort to abused and neglected children; hope and refuge for men and women in crisis.  We opened the Men’s Residence in 1982.  In 1985, the Christian Care Center was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  We added the Children’s Shelter in 1985, the Pregnancy & Family Care Center in 1987, the Women’s Care Center in 1989, the Benevolence Center (Food and Clothes) in 1991, our Fresh Start job placement program in 2008 and the Samaritan Inn (transitional shelter for homeless families with children) in 2009.   These services are available to all men, women and children regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, economic status or gender. In 2001, we partnered with Leesburg Regional Medical Center, now known as UF Health Leesburg Hospital, to open the Community Medical Care Center to provide medical care to the medically indigent. The Christian Care Center meets the needs of men, women, and children in crisis situations in the area of Lake County through providing food, clothing, shelter, counseling, essential services, life skills, and counseling.
