Hello! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our organization and, also, for your consideration of monetary support to our A Community Thrives campaign. We are an all-volunteer Board that believes in being mindful stewards of the trails we love. Since our organization’s inception, we have strived to give people of all ages a safe and healthy way to connect with nature. We take the roles of trail builders and land stewards very seriously. Annually, our community-based volunteers collectively log over 3,000 volunteer hours. These volunteers not only donate their time, but they are also generous with other resources necessary to build and maintain the trail.

All the hard work and challenges that we have had with opposition have proven to be well worth the struggles seeing that the number of trail users increase every year. We have learned that our trails have been the backdrop to many memorable events, such as marriage proposals, new baby announcements, birthday parties, national television ads and more. Our trails have provided learning and personal growth opportunities for school students, scout organizations, and 4H groups.

These trails are not only an attractive amenity for our residents but also a destination for out of town visitors looking for a safe place to get out and stretch their legs while enjoying all the beauty that Central Kansas has to offer.

Over the years, we have been extremely fortunate to have had overwhelming support for our work both locally and nationally; however, building trail is labor-intensive and capital intensive and we still have a few miles left to complete.

Our goal is to raise $10,000. Additional donations will go toward upcoming Meadowlark trail developments. Because of our success with our last A Community Thrives fundraiser, we were able to purchase a flatbed railcar to replace the bridge that was lost to arson. CKC will use these funds to complete the bridge replacement and help us develop the final two miles of trail.

This fundraiser continues until 8 p.m. on August 12.  Will you help us?

With your support, we will FINALLY be able to connect the two sections of the Meadowlark Trail  between the McPherson and Lindsborg communities.

We, the CKC, sincerely appreciate your consideration of support regarding dollars and volunteerism and want to invite you to utilize this beautiful natural amenity!
