CARES of Farmington Hills needs your help to remodel our free our pantry by opening space that is unusable now. Our plan is to change and add shelving to make it more convenient for our guests, to add coolers to keep our produce items fresh and promote healthy eating. We plan to redo our checkout counters and flooring, and to improve our guest check-in area to better protect our guests’ privacy.
Our pantry serves upwards of 500 families per month, and we expect this number to grow during the COVID-19 pandemic as economic conditions worsen for people who are already living day-to-day. Our goal is always to serve our guests with love and respect.
The mission of CARES is to offer comprehensive support services for individuals and families in and around our service area – Farmington Hills, Farmington, Livonia, Redford, Redford Township, and Southfield – who need or have limited access to everyday necessities due to insufficient financial resources or family instability. In addition to our food pantry, CARES offers a market, recovery programs, and access to other community and county support services, all on one campus.
