HELP US BE A BRIDGE TO BRIGHTER DAYS FOR HOMELESS AND UNDER-RESOURCED PEOPLE
"It saved my life - no doubt about it." Bright Bridge Ministries Resident on our Transitional Housing /Recovery Program

We're on a mission to help those in need become contributing members of society, leading lives they are proud of.  As a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, faith-centered ministry dedicated to providing support and resources to those in need, Bright Bridge Ministries offers food, recovery services, housing and spiritual guidance.  We are located in Pensacola, Florida, in Escambia County.

Since 2007, we've been working with Escambia County's most vulnerable and under-resourced residents: homeless individuals and families, children living in poverty, U.S. veterans, mentally ill, former inmates, substance abusers and others in need.

Within two miles of our property, there are three homeless camps, multiple abandoned houses where groups of our clients reside, and two homeless shelters.  More than 70% of our neighbors in this census tract live well below the poverty level, and live in housing that exceeds over half of their income.

The needs of this population are significant, individualized, and complex.  Our God-centered approach offers a bridge to brighter days, empowering each person with dignity, care, and acceptance, to equip them for their journey toward recovery and life renewal.

In 2019, we changed our name from Pensacola United Methodist Community Ministries to Bright Bridge Ministries.  With this change, we propel forward with a renewed sense of purpose, passionately serving men, women, and children, regardless of faith or circumstance.

We hope you will donate to our Mightycause fundraiser, to support the growing needs of our Food Ministry Program at Bright Bridge Ministries.

We serve hot, healthy meals Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m.-noon. It’s a time for us to talk with our clients and get to know their underlying needs in their lives as they get the nutrition they need. Before the pandemic, we were serving approximately 120 weekday meals per week to anyone in need of a hot, healthy meal. Now, we frequently serve over 300 meals per day. In addition to our weekday meals, we serve a Sunday evening dinner for the community and breakfast and dinner for our shelter guests.

Our Food Ministry Program is designed to provide an avenue and means to address other issues facing the chronically homeless and poor in the community with a safe, refreshing, nurturing environment. The program helps promote the dignity and nutritional well-being of the homeless and poor of the community by setting a healthy physical environment for spiritual feeding.

RESIDENT TESTIMONIAL FROM BRIGHT BRIDGE MINISTRIES

It saved my life - no doubt about it.  I had given up.  I called a friend and he recommended Bright Bridge Ministries.  I've been able to work, get my license back, buy a car and reconnect with my family.  I am so grateful.

Recovery has been an ongoing project in my life for the last seven years.  I've been somewhat successful throughout much of that time.  My relapse episodes have been few but quite intense.  Something was missing.  I often kept my head in spiritual, or religious or psychology self-help books, searching for the missing piece to the puzzle.  Two years ago, a friend of mine told me about Bright Bridge Ministries.  When I arrived here, I could sense that something was different, although I couldn't quite put my finger on it.  I had become jaded and a bit disappointed with the leadership of other facilities in the past.

I expected Pastor Robin to be no different.  I soon began to realize that I was wrong and furthermore, amazed at her genuine concern for others.  She is patient, kind and understanding - truly understanding.  But more than this, she has a deep belief and faith that everyone has the ability to recover with God's help.

It was then and there that I found the missing piece to the puzzle that, for so long, had alluded me.  I had stumbled on an angel.

A blessing in the midst of my hopelessness.  Here, for the first time in a very long time, was someone who believed in me.  Someone who seemed to  have no doubt that I could become a new man.  And more than that, she was willing to do what she could to help me reach that new life.  I will forever give thanks to God for sending me this lovely and beautiful, kind lady.  I love you.
