About Care Volunteers
About Care provides opportunities for its volunteers to find meaning in helping others who need extra assistance. Volunteers focus on the abilities and strengths of the clients they serve, and then do "little things with great love" to provide encouragement and support. Volunteer training emphasizes that About Care's purpose is to create self-confidence and independence.

Testimonials

I am a disabled Ex-Police Officer and USMC Viet Nam Veteran, knowing what it means to serve, and About Care volunteers epitomizes that word to serve. Being paralyzed from my lower chest down, because of a motorcycle wreck 12 years ago, life has had its challenges, to say the least. I live on a low fixed income and buying a computer that was reliable just wasn't something that fit into my budget. Then through an Angel, Brenda Harvey, I was introduced to a company called About Care. Through their generosity and the help of computer GURU, I was given a computer that gave me a new lease on life. I have been able to work from my computer and feel reborn again because it is very difficult to get someone to hire a person with physical handicaps. It is kind of funny, in a way, that most people treat someone in a wheelchair as less intelligent than them, like we have a contagious plague, and that we are just plain "in the way". I have never been treated that way by anyone from About Care. The volunteers have treated me with nothing but respect. If there is anyone more deserving of a donatino to help physically challenged individuals in Arizona, like myself, I can tell you over the last 12 years of my disability, I can't think of one. They talk the walk and walk the talk and when they say that their heart is in it to help us out you can take it to the bank, they really mean what they say because I am living proof that they helped me to get my life back and I appreciate all of them more than words can express. Please donate to About Care so that they can save the lives of other less fortunate disabled people, like myself, to get their lives back and help them cope with our difficult situations that we face daily. Your generosity will be appreciated immensely. May God bless all of you in your decision because whatever money you can donate them they could use three times that amount.
Sincerely,

E. Burt Buxton
