Summit Players Theatre

COLLABORATION. INNOVATION. EDUCATION.

Summit Players Theatre has been committed to producing high-quality, accessible, free Shakespeare across Wisconsin for eight total years. Originally a small project created by recent college graduates, we're now a fully-fledged non-profit theatre company that has served nearly 10,000 people on our travels. Our mission is simple: share empowering theatre experiences with children and communities throughout Wisconsin, regardless of income or background.

Our 2022 season reflects our commitment to growing and serving the greatest number of communities across the state of Wisconsin. We will return to the Wisconsin state parks in 2022 with 24 programs at 23 different Wisconsin state parks.

HOW WE DO IT

The players use theatre as a learning medium and introduce children to a passion for language, communicating, and constructive play, while providing adults with an enjoyable theatrical experience.  The only company in the country focused on touring a production through state parks, the Summit Players build connections between Shakespeare, the outdoors, and fun. To do so, we seek innovative and original ways to perform, to connect the classics to our contemporary time.

2021 Statistics

Summit Players Theatre served 315 workshop participants and 1,888 audience members in 2021. 96 percent of participants said the program we offered met or exceeded their expectations.
