Spencer Pride

Hi! I am Camden and I am here to tell you about Spencer Pride.

Spencer’s Pride’s mission is to make Indiana a more welcoming place for ALL people and you can help.   We operate the Spencer Pride commUnity center, coordinate the annual Spencer Pride Festival, offer health screenings and education, and host the Iris Youth Group.  

Our commUnity center is located on the Spencer Court House Square, a historic district where we are part of the downtown revitalization effort. We have turned a derelict building into a hive of activity where we now need to rehab more space for health and youth programs. We have done amazing things since purchasing the building in 2017, including replacing the entire roof, restoring the back wall so it no longer leaks in heavy rain, and installed a second-floor HVAC system. Through our Moving on Up campaign, we were able to install a new staircase to the second floor.

Donate to help us move the next stage of our building rehab effort forward to better serve our community. Through our Move In Ready campaign, we need to purchase and install overhead lighting; paint the walls and ceiling; purchase and install bathroom fixtures and grab bars; purchase and install doors and locks; repair and clean the hallway floors; clean and seal the mural and brick wall; purchase, install, and stock a closet shelving system.
