Our Mission

Each month, Shoebox Ministry distributes 1,500+ hygiene kits to people in need because we believe

that access to good hygiene is not just for the privileged but should be available to all. We distribute

hygiene kits to over 45 Valley nonprofits agencies serving people experiencing homelessness,

domestic violence survivors, children in the foster care systems, the working poor and other people

who need, but cannot afford hygiene items.

The Challenge:

1 in 9 Arizonans can’t afford soap

2,500 people are unsheltered and living on our streets nightly

People living in recovery homes, shelters or fleeing domestic violence situations have minimal

resources and are the most vulnerable to COVID-19

How We Operate

Shoebox collects donated toiletry items from businesses and individuals. With money raised

through fundraising and grants, Shoebox sometimes purchases toiletry items.

Items are sorted, organized, packed into a shoebox or bag and given to partner agencies, who then

distribute the hygiene kits to our network of nonprofit agencies, who then then give to individuals in

their programs.

We are entirely dependent on community support to collect and distribute toiletry kits. Your ongoing

support and generosity is crucial to our continued ability to provide these items.
