Rosie's House is committed to strengthening our community. Our mission is to eliminate barriers to high-quality music education. Rosie's House supports youth in developing their greatest personal potential and we are committed to providing students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with access to life-changing programs in which they would not otherwise participate.

Rosie's House puts youth on a path for college and long-term success. The following stories are just some of the many illustrations of impact:

1. Current Rosie's House student, Sebastian, attends a school with no music program. Thankfully, he has had the opportunity to be a part of the Rosie's House Wind Ensemble for the last two years, learning the joys of playing the flute from Aldie Lopez, a highly-trained music educator. Through music education, Sebastian is learning critical life and learning skills.

Sebastian's mom, Laura, says that his teamwork, discipline and communication skills have all improved since enrolling at Rosie's House. These skills have helped him with his homework, gain confidence and even make new friends. Now, Sebastian is aiming to attend college and is confident that his time at Rosie's House will help him achieve this goal.

2. Known for his exuberance, desire to learn, and perseverance, 18-year-old Zyon Sanchez-Perez graduated from high school and Rosie’s House in May 2022. He is headed to Barrett, The Honors College at ASU this fall where he plans to major in Finance. A student at Rosie’s House for the past three years, Zyon’s accomplishments are impressive. Not only did he advance his skills on the saxophone and trumpet, but he was also a valued and well-liked member of the mariachi and band ensembles.

Zyon believes he will never lose his passion for music. Music is part of who he is and how he sees his life and experiences. “I find myself being a more active member in any group situation due to my practice in ensembles. I find it easier to take leadership positions and express my ideas to my peers as well.”
