Near West Side Partners

Near West Side Partners (NWSP) is a non-profit organization that partners with institutional stakeholders, civic leaders, and residents to revitalize and sustain Milwaukee's Near West Side (NWS). Founded in 2014, NWSP prioritizes the promotion of economic development, improved housing, and greater safety for NWS residents, employees and visitors alike.

Community Engagement: NWSP has a robust community outreach team, that includes Neighborhood Ambassadors who work directly with residents and business owners to address concerns and issues as they arise, document nuisance properties, and develop opportunities to engage residents and stakeholders in activities that improve the neighborhood. NWSP hosts a number of signature events throughout the year that bring residents, employees, and visitors together to celebrate the great attributes of the neighborhood.

Business and Commercial Corridor Development: NWSP and Business Improvement District 10 are working closely with the Brew City Match collaborative to provide financial and technical support and resources to Near West Side entrepreneurs and property owners.  NWSP also hosts an annual small-business competition – Rev-Up MKE – providing local, start-up entrepreneurs the opportunity to expand or start a business, and has supported the opening of new storefronts with 4 previous participants.

Housing and Tenant Engagement: NWSP hosts monthly landlord compact meetings, bringing together landlords to address issues in multi-family buildings. Additionally, NWSP works with tenants to understand their concerns and needs and connect them to a variety of resources. NWSP also offers housing incentives to individuals interested in renting or purchasing a home in the neighborhood as well as match grants for home repairs through the Live, Work, Play program.

Resident Leadership Council Meeting 

Health and Well-Being: NWSP is committed to improving the health, well-being, and quality of life of NWS residents. Through thoughtful collaboration, NWSP has brought a variety of essential services directly to residents, including domestic violence resources, rental and eviction counseling, and employment fairs. In 2022, NWSP is focused on bringing the best of NWS services together to provide better access and service to residents through the Concordia 27 community resource hub development.
