$7,500 Goal

Civic Design Center’s mission is to advocate for civic design visions and actionable change in communities to improve quality of life for all.

We work locally in Nashville so that our community may set a global example for design equity and improved quality of life. While we consult on civic designs and community development projects, we strive for placemaking outcomes that reflect the people, history and culture of communities we serve. We also work as a liaison between the people, organizations, and municipalities so we can achieve equitable and sustainable design decisions.

Ongoing Programs at the Design Center:

1) Design Your Neighborhood, a youth education program that incorporates comprehensive lessons of community planning, design, and civic engagement in schools; 2) TURBO, a community-led program that uses tactical urbanism interventions to spark change in neighborhood safety and livability; 3) UTK Design Studio, a mentorship program for architecture college students that provides them with real life design visioning projects; 4) BETTER CITIES FOR PETS™, a partnership with Mars Petcare that advocates for pet-friendly spaces in cities.
