Hope Chest for Women

It quickly became clear that, while the small fund could help a few patients, much more needed to be done. Most women living in this area are under-insured or fall into financial hardship due to the cost of cancer treatment. Nearly 1 in 3 cannot work or will lose their jobs due to the side effects caused by treatment. Simple steps can make a huge difference in the lives of women fighting these battles. Helping to pay rent, mortgage, a car payment, or a payment to keep the lights on can mean a woman in this situation does not have to worry about getting her treatment.

Today we are an established 501(c)(3) that offers critical financial assistance for both medical and non-medical expenses to women with diagnoses of breast or gynecological cancers living in any of the 22 counties of Western North Carolina, or receiving treatment in our area.

We also provide information on community resources, education on cancer prevention, and emotional support. Most importantly we give hope to women in Western North Carolina living with breast or gynecological cancers. Since 2003, we have given over $5200,000.00 in direct financial aid and granted over 2,500 requests for assistance.

That is what we are fighting against. That is why we need your help. Our funds all go to support local women who need help, not to research, or some big company elsewhere. Our work is never ending but we want to do more. We want to help more people. We want you to be a part of our effort.
